Raised in the Midwest on hoops, hops, and hard work, Jon Dorn discovered outdoor adventure while completing his doctorate in American Studies at Harvard. After toiling in the dusty bowels of academia, he swapped libraries for trails, becoming Backpacker magazine's assistant gear editor. A few insanely entertaining decades later, he's slept under the stars in 30+ countries and served in executive roles at two of North America's largest outdoor media companies. He's a co-founder of the Outside Festival and Cooler, a small climate software business, and one of the first graduates of Al Gore's Climate Reality Project. He lives just up the road in Boulder and is an avid (some would say obsessed) triathlete and cyclist.
