Ali Carr is the Founder and CEO of Basecamp Outdoor, the biggest hiring platform and digital community in the outdoor industry. Basecamp was born of Carr’s 15+ years in the outdoor industry, during which Carr was an editor at Outside, Wirecutter (The New York Times), Gear Patrol, and more. She’s also appeared on-camera for Outside TV and Travel Channel, and spent a year in marketing at Rivian. In 2018, the feature story she wrote in Outside about her dad’s disappearance at sea won a gold medal from the Society of American Travel Writers. Carr’s passion for the outdoors is rivaled by her desire to support mamas. She was the Head of Content & Community on a project within Nike’s start-up lab supporting women from pregnancy to postpartum. And she helped shape Los Angeles’s newest postpartum retreat center, Sanhu House. Carr’s currently focused on launching Basecamp Match, a new job board and candidate matching platform.
